MARYSVILLE — With Daran Brady taking second place in the all-around, the Columbus East gymnastics team finished second at the 15-team Marysville Invitational on Saturday.
“It was our best finish in a number of years,” Olympians coach Nancy Kirshman said. “We competed very well.”
Brady scored 37.425 in the all-round, just behind Portage’s McKenzie Barcalli, who won with a 37.575. East’s Jaycie Jaggers was 10th at 33.525 while Molly Boggs was 11th at 33.425.
Brady won the vault with a 9.4 and Emily Clancy was 11th in the event for East at 8.85.
In the uneven bars, Brady was third at 9.15 while Boggs was seventh at 8.65 and Jaggers was 10th at 8.375.
In the balance beam, Brady was first at 9.5 while Clancy was 12th at 8.5.
Brady was third in the floor exercise at 9.375.
Portage won the team title at 109.925 while East finished at 105.875. Marysville was third at 105.125.
