MARSHALL — The Edinburgh football team made its nearly 100-mile road trip worthwhile with a 57-8 rout of host Turkey Run.
The Lancers scored six touchdowns on seven possessions in the first half and never looked back.
Edinburgh (2-1) dominated both sides of scrimmage, especially on defense.
The Warriors were held to a total of only 46 yards.
And, their only score came late in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard touchdown by quarterback Jeff Woods.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh rolled up 422 yards of total offense led by senior quarterback Sammy Wilkerson.
Wilkerson completed 7 for 13 passes for 187 yards, all in the first half as the Lancers went to the intermission with a 42-0 lead.
Wilkerson accounted for two touchdowns on the ground, the first on a 24-yard scamper around right end, and a second from two yards out.
He also had touchdown passes of 76, 15, 5, and 59 yards.
On the first offensive play of the first quarter, Wilkerson found Caleb Giles in the corner of the end zone for a 76-yard touchdown.
The three other touchdown passes were to junior wide receiver Dakota Dayton.
Edinburgh kept the ball on the ground nearly the entire second half as third-year coach Bill Unsworth substituted freely.
