Bartholomew County Commissioners have appointed Zack Ellison to serve on the Columbus Regional Hospital Board of Trustees. He replaces Tom Lentz, who retired from the board in December after 16 years of service.
Ellison, appointed to a four-year term, also serves on the Bartholomew County Board of Zoning Appeals, is active in veterans affairs and is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He retired from Cummins Inc. at the end of 2012.
Lentz was appointed to the hospital board in 1997 and has been a resident of Bartholomew County since 1941. He is a farmer in Flatrock Township, and he and his wife, Marilyn, have three children. His father, the late William Carr Lentz, served on the board from 1956 to 1963.
Current hospital board members are Ellison, Dr. Rick Shedd, John Nash, A.H. “Hutch” Schumaker, Don Michaels and Tracy Souza.
