AUTHOR JEANNE CUMMINS will sign copies of her book, “Elisabeth and Fritz: A Marriage in the Bloods Royal Market,” from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 17 at Viewpoint Books, Sixth and Washington streets. The nonfiction book is about the 18th-century marriage of the cousin of Marie Antoinette and Frederick the Great. Mrs. Cummins is the daughter-in-law of Cummins founder Clessie Cummins

A BREAST CANCER AWARENESS FUNDRAISER AND OPEN HOUSE will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Twisted Scizzors salon, 3115 20th St. Proceeds will go to the Mammography Assistance Program at Columbus Regional Hospital. Various services, including haircuts, makeup application, nail polish, pink extensions and chair massages, will be available for $10, there will be three raffles, food from Big D’s Pulled Pork and Papa’s Grill will be available and vendors will have booths open.
