THE FIFTH ANNUAL WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA CEREMONY is Dec. 14 and is presented by the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 24, of Columbus.
Wreaths will be placed at the Bartholomew County Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the courthouse, beginning at noon, then in the Veterans Section of Garland Brook Cemetery, where 500 wreaths will be placed free
Anyone who would like to assist the program financially or help place wreaths may call Ron Shadley, 343-8514, to make arrangements.
A CHEER FUND PANCAKE BREAKFAST is 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Parkside Court Retirement Community, 3660 Central Ave., Columbus. Donations of $5 and/or toys will benefit the Cheer Fund.
Toys also may be donated from
9 a.m. to noon. Refreshments will be served.
COLUMBUS SUNRISE ROTARY CLUB will meet at
7 a.m. Friday at Donner Center. Bob Pitman, executive director of Mill Race Center, will talk about the upcoming “Great Decisions” series, a nationwide, locally sponsored reading and discussion series on current major issues.
Cost is $7, which includes a hot breakfast. Guests are welcome.
