COLUMBUS, Ind. — With panel discussions and free films, Ivy Tech and the Columbus Area Multi-Ethnic Organization will join organizations across the country to celebrate International Education Week.
The week, which begins Nov. 10, is organized by The U.S. departments of State and Education and celebrates the benefits of international education and exchanges. It also helps promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the U.S.
Ivy Tech in Columbus is participating to engage students in understanding international issues and to reach out into the community to foster global awareness, said Maribeth E. Anderson, professor and assistant chair of the Department of Liberal Arts, English & Humanities.
