Fire Station 4 invites residents to open house

Follow The Republic:

Columbus Fire Department Station 4 will host a “Community Day” open house from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Station 4 is at 4730 E. 25th St. This station was designed by Venturi and Rauch of Philadelphia.

In 1991, designer Robert Venturi received the Pritzker Architecture Prize for the station’s design.

Station 4 is designed in the shape of a trapezoid and is a popular stop for architecture students.

Station 4 responds to neighborhoods on the east side of Columbus. Station 4 houses a 75-foot Quint ladder apparatus.

Children will be invited to climb into the driver’s seat of a fire engine during the open house. Light refreshments will be served.
