A fire that destroyed a house late Tuesday morning two miles southwest of Taylorsville began in a clothes dryer, according to the homeowner.

Comer Plumlee said he and two young boys in the home at 5221 W. Ohio Ridge Road escaped without injury.

One volunteer firefighter was treated and released for heat-related symptoms at Columbus Regional Hospital while fighting the fire in 90-degree temperatures, German Township Fire Department Deputy Chief Matt Lynch said.
