HOPE — Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corp. began preparing for a different type of severe weather Tuesday.

Engineers recommended the district upgrade the doors leading to the cafeteria at Hauser Jr.-Sr. High School, which also serves as a concrete tornado shelter certified to withstand an EF5 tornado.

Tuesday, board members approved spending $32,500 for two hallway doors and two exterior doors.

At the reorganization meeting, Andy Hunnicutt was re-elected as president, Greg Spurling was re-elected as secretary and Steven Wilson was elected as vice president. Jeffrey Cleland was reappointed as treasurer, and Charles Wells Jr. was reappointed as attorney.
