Flats of Columbus project set aside for a month

Follow The Republic:

A proposal to annex 23.2 acres and rezone it to residential for an apartment complex development was delayed a month by the Columbus Plan Commission Wednesday night.

The Flats of Columbus, where developers want to build 130 single-story upscale apartments near Menard's and Charwood Suites south of Jonathan Moore Pike, will be considered by plan commission members at 4 p.m. March 12.

On Wednesday, neighbors raised concerns about drainage, proximity to nearby single-family homes and how the property line would be marked, whether by fence or a tree line.
