Flood advisory issued for Bartholomew County

Follow The Republic:

A flood advisory has been issued for Bartholomew County until 9 p.m. today.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory after up to 1 and a half inches of rain fell over a short period of time across parts of the county by about 5 p.m.

Runoff from the excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

Motorists are advised to refrain from driving vehicles across areas where water covers the roadway as it may be too deep to allow a vehicle to cross safely.

Check back here for more updates if flooding problems occur.
