Free car wash, but donations encouraged

Follow The Republic:

Mike’s Carwash will celebrate its grand opening in Columbus by offering free car washes Friday through Sunday and encouraging customers to make a charitable donation to the Foundation For Youth’s Scholarship Fund.

“These programs truly make a difference in a child’s life. We hope customers will stop by for a free wash and give generously,” said Mike’s Carwash CEO Bill Dahm.

In 2011, more than half of the 14,000 youth served through Foundation For Youth programs received scholarship support.

Foundation for Youth represents a number of youth-spirited nonprofit groups here, including the Boys & Girls Club; Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Bartholomew County; Columbus Youth Camp and others.

The Columbus location of Mike’s Carwash will operate at 1525 N. National Road. During the free-car-wash days, it will remain open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Rain dates are scheduled for Jan. 18-20.
