Columbus area families are invited to spend Sunday afternoon exploring kidscommons museum with the city’s everyday heroes.
Kids, Cops and Firefighters Day will be from 1 to 5 p.m. The free event is presented in partnership with Columbus Regional Health and the City of Columbus.
The event was established to provide children with a time to enjoy the museum in the company of police officers and firefighters, said Diane Robbins, the museum’s community relations and marketing manager.
“It is to show kids you can be comfortable around them, and if you ever need them for help, they’re always there,” she said.
A fire truck and police car will be on hand outside for children to explore, Robbins said.
Permanent interactive exhibits include the Early Childhood Garden, which introduces kids to Indiana’s wildlife; a 17-foot climbing wall and a mix of scientific and musical learning opportunities, including the laser harp, robotic arm and bubbleology.
Don't settle for a preview.
