Mike’s Carwash in Columbus, 1525 N. National Road, raised $13,863 for Foundation for Youth during a three-day event when customers were asked to make donations to the Columbus nonprofit agency when receiving a car wash.

Customers received 4,000 of Mike’s “Works” car washes, valued at $15 each, Jan. 18 to 20. Donations will go to FFY’s scholarship fund.

The United Way agency provides programming and services to 14,000 youth in Columbus, including sports and recreation, activities at the Boys and Girls Club and mentoring programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters. More than half of youth served at FFY in 2011 received scholarship support.
