Local government bodies are working to reschedule meetings disrupted by Monday’s bitter cold.
Bartholomew County Commissioners will have a special meeting to approve payroll at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the commissioners’ chambers at the Governmental Office Building, 440 Third St. Monday’s regular commissioners’ meeting was canceled. All other business will be placed on the agenda for next Monday’s meeting, Commissioners President Carl Lienhoop said.
Columbus City Council’s Monday night meeting was canceled and has yet to be rescheduled. City Attorney Jeff Logston said the city is trying to determine a time when council members can all get together. Although council meetings normally are conducted Tuesdays, the council is required by city ordinance to hold an organizational meeting on the first Monday of the year, Logston said.
Columbus Board of Public Works and Safety’s meeting today has been canceled, Mayor Kristen Brown said.
The Hope Town Council’s Monday night work session has been rescheduled for Jan. 13.
