The local, mom-and-pop-style Beacon Promotions is bringing popular, Grammy-winning contemporary Christian band Casting Crowns to Columbus April 20.

The concert will be held in the Columbus North High School gym and seat about 7,000 for the event, according to Beacon's David Gregory.

Beacon is contracting with the Greenfield-based Mid America Sound, one of the nation's largest event production companies, to build a stage and make other temporary changes to the venue to accommodate the concert.

In the past three years, Beacon, consisting of David and Amanda Gregory and Karl and Jamie Evans, has organized concerts with Christian music's Matthew West, TobyMac, and Sanctus Real as headliners. Each of the events has drawn more than 1,000 people from a cross section of churches and denominations.

Plus, event proceeds have supported outreaches such as Love Chapel, the food pantry supported by the Ecumenical Assembly of Bartholomew County Churches.

Don't settle for a preview.
