Group seeks nominations for state physician award

Follow The Republic:

The Indiana State Medical Association is seeking nominations of Indiana physicians for its community service award.

Anyone can submit a nomination for this award that seeks to honor an Indiana physician who has made outstanding contributions to the community outside of the practice of medicine.

To be eligible for the award, a physician must:

- Be licensed in Indiana

- Be living

- Not have received the award previously

- Have an outstanding record of community service that, apart from his or her specific identification as a physician, reflects well on the profession

Physicians who have been nominated previously but have not received the award may be renominated. All nominations will be reviewed by an ISMA physician committee.

The recipient and the group or individual who nominated the recipient will be notified of the exact date and time the award will be presented during the ISMA convention Sept. 5 to 7 in Indianapolis.

Deadline for nominations is June 13. Find a nomination form at ismanet.org/convention.
