As part of a volunteer effort, assistance is available to Hoosiers considering signing up for health insurance under the federal Affordable Care Act.

Consumers who want to explore their options can call a toll-free number to set up an appointment where volunteers can help people navigate the online insurance marketplace that has been established.

In Indiana for help setting up an appointment, residents can call toll-free to 800-699-1521.

For information about the Affordable Care Act, residents can call a national toll-free line at 800-318-2596.
