Helping hands sought for Aug. 4 triathlon

Volunteers are needed for the 17th annual Columbus Challenge Sprint Triathlon.
The event will be begin at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 4 at Tipton Lakes Marina. This year’s race is a fundraiser for Foundation for Youth’s scholarship fund.
Organizers are seeking volunteers for packet pickup and a pre-race dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 3 and from 6 a.m. to noon on the day of the race. Jobs include handing out water to participants, serving food after the race, controlling traffic and giving directions, taking photographs and assisting the time crew. Volunteers will receive a race day T-shirt for their efforts.
