The holiday season has begun in Bartholomew County and at the Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District.
Holiday lights are appearing, snow is in the forecast, and we can smell the cookies being baked.
Our thoughts are on spending time with family, shopping and holiday celebrations. Most of us are probably not thinking about the after-holidays cleanup, but we want to remind you about some holiday recycling options in Bartholomew County.
Dec. 26 through Jan. 18, we will accept the following items for holiday recycling at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center during our normal hours of operation:
Also, if you have replaced an old electronic item this holiday season, you can utilize our expanded electronics recycling program. At both the recycling center and landfill we accept nearly any small appliance or electronic device with a cord. The items should not be primarily composed of glass, wood or ceramics. You can bring these items during our normal hours of operation.

BCSWMD staff wishes you and your family a happy holiday season.
