Indiana State makes NIT, IU doesn't get an invite

Indiana fans hoping to prolong a disappointing season in the NCAA's consolation tournament had their hopes dashed Sunday night.

The Hoosiers, who finished the season 17-15, were not chosen to compete among the 32 teams for the National Invitational Tournament..
Indiana State made the field in the NIT's SMU region, and will play third-seeded Arkansas in the No. 6 spot. The Sycamores (23-10) ended their regular season with a second place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference.
