Informational session about U.S. military academies planned for students April 27

COLUMBUS, Ind. — U.S. Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., and U.S. Rep. Luke Messer, R-Ind., have announced an Academy Day in southern Indiana to give high school students a chance to get information on how to apply to one of the U.S. military academies.

The session is 1 p.m. April 27 at Muscatatuck Urban Training Complex near Butlerville, in Jennings County.

Representatives from Coats' and Messer's offices and the academies will be available to speak with individuals about life at a U.S. service academy, the application process through the senator’s office and tips on how to improve applications.

The academies include the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy at West Point and U.S. Naval Academy.
