Jackson county woman dies in accident

Follow The Republic:

A Jackson County woman died Monday afternoon of injuries caused when her husband’s car left the road and struck a utility pole northwest of Medora.

Mary Margaret Hunsucker, 94, of Vallonia, was pronounced dead at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis at 2:03 p.m., Sheriff Michael Carothers said.

The Marion County coroner’s office told him that Hunsucker died from head injuries.

Hunsucker was flown by Lifeline Air Ambulance to Methodist, Carothers said.

Her husband, John E. Hunsucker, 87, was taken by Jackson County EMS to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. He was expected to be transferred Monday evening to Methodist, also for treatment of head injuries, Carothers said.
