Jeffersonville ends East’s win streak at 9

JEFFERSONVILLE

A furious Jeffersonville run to start the third quarter led to a 90-65 victory for the No. 13 Red Devils over Columbus East, Tuesday in both teams’ final Hoosier Hill Conference game of the season.

The Red Devils (16-3, Hoosier Hills Conference 7-0) opened the second half on a 19-4 run and outscored the Olympians (12-8, 4-3 conference) 54-21 in the second half.

“I thought they (Jeffersonville) came out with more energy, and our kids didn’t respond,” East coach Brent Chitty said. “They kind of punched us in the mouth. When you play good teams, they’re going to do that, and we’re going to have to do a better job responding.”
