Jennigs: Boy, 11, to headline bluegrass concert

Kyle Ramey, an 11-year-old bluegrass musician and singer, will headline a concert Saturday at the Senior Resource Center, 515 Buckeye St. in North Vernon.

The North Vernon Elementary sixth-grader and son of Scott and Pam Ramey made his first public performance at the age of 5. Since then, Kyle has recorded a number of CDs and performed throughout the country with many nationally-known bluegrass and country musicians.

Besides vocals, Kyle also plays mandolin, fiddle, guitar, banjo, Dobro and other instruments.

Doors for the concert open at 5 p.m. Saturday with the show to begin at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling 812-346-1234.
