Rule changes for use of watercraft on Richart Lake
A recent rule change will allow nonmotorized canoes and kayaks to be used on Richart Lake at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge.
The lake is open to fishing year-round, and the use of these types of watercraft will allow greater access for anglers and wildlife observers.

Churches offer Thursday meals for those in need
A total of seven Jennings County churches are now preparing meals the third Thursday of each month for people in need.
The next Third Thursday meal will be this week in the Good Samaritan Food Pantry at 2250 N. State Road 7. Meals are served from 5-6:30 p.m.
North Vernon United Methodist Church has now joined six other Jennings County churches in providing the monthly dinner. In addition, volunteers at the food pantry have provided drinks and table decorations.

Builders association plans membership meeting
The Jackson-Jennings Builders Association will meet Tuesday at Luecke Audio and Video in Seymour.
The board of directors will meet at 5:30 p.m., followed by the general membership meeting at 6:30 p.m.
President Mike Dippold will give a report on the annual golf outing held in September.
Doug’s Famous Chili will be furnished by Luecke’s, along with other homemade food.
After the meal, Don and Dave Luecke will show what is new in the appliance, audio and video lines.
