Get grossed out at a Jennings County Public Library science event.
Youngsters will study a variety of gross things, such as gooey slime. There will even be some “gross” party food served.
The event for children to 6 to 16 is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the library, 2375 N. State Road 3, North Vernon. All materials will be supplied.
Registration is required and limited to the first 25 children who sign up. Kids under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Senior Book Club
The Senior Book Club will discuss “The Zookeeper’s Wife” by Diane Ackerman at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Senior Resource Center of Jennings County, 515 Buckeye St.
Adults and teens are welcome; you don’t have to be a senior citizen to join this book club.
Ask for a copy of the book at the Information Desk.
Debi Hurt, the author of several books and owner/editor of Pen It! Magazine, is hosting a writers group that meets at the Jennings County Public Library.
The group’s next meeting is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The group meets the second Tuesday of every month and is open to high school students and adults.

Teen advisory board
The next meeting of the library’s Teen Advisory Board, for ages 11-18, is 7 p.m. Tuesday. Snacks will be provided.

The library, in partnership with Jennings County Extension, is offering sessions to teach sewing.
The sessions meet at the library on the third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting is 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
These sessions are for those who are just beginning and learning how to sew. Bring your own sewing machine and supplies. The cost is yearly dues of $10 for Jennings County Extension.

After-school Wii gaming
Looking for something to do after school? Hang out with your friends while you challenge them with our Wii games in the library’s new teen room.
Wii gaming will be available on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m.

“General Genealogy” will cover identifying what you know, deciding what you want to learn selecting records to search, obtaining and searching the records, and using the information.
Additionally, participants will be shown how to organize research and information.
The class is 10 to 11 a.m. March 26.
