HOPE — Although Hauser’s Eric McMullen hurled a four-hitter, the Jets dropped a 4-1 decision to visiting Indianapolis Lutheran on Monday.
Jared Compton, Nathan Branum, Dalton McKinney and Isaiah Martin had the only hits for the Jets.
The game’s big blow was a three-run homer by Indianapolis Lutheran’s Seth Hougesen in the fourth inning.
Indianapolis Lutheran raised its record to 18-7, while Hauser fell to 12-11.
Cougars roll to win
SEYMOUR — The Trinity Lutheran baseball team ripped visiting Southwestern (Shelby) 9-0 on Monday.
Andrew Cain tossed a two-hitter for the Cougars, who had five extra-base hits. Nick Mensendiek had two doubles, while Ross Kruse, Caleb Reedy and Jacob Schult each had one. Seven different Trinity Lutheran players — Crick (2), Mensendiek, Cain, Blake Levy, Matt Fourman, Stout, Nolan Kelly and Reedy — had RBI.
Trinity Lutheran is 8-12-1.
Lancers no-hit in loss
GREENWOOD — Edinburgh was no-hit in a 17-0 loss that ended after the top of the fifth against host Greenwood Christian.
Edinburgh, 4-18, opens sectional play Wednesday against host Morristown with an estimated start time of 7:30 p.m.
Jennings County downs Shawe
MADISON — Ian Donnell shot even-par 36 to earn medalist honors in Jennings County’s 162-180 victory over Shawe Memorial at Sunrise Golf Course.
Jake Simmons shot 40 for Jennings County, while Tyler Clerkin shot 41 and Bailey Wilder and Garrett Day each carded a 45.
Other scores for Jennings County were a 46 for Hunter Sporleder, a 50 for both Lane Sawyer and John Kelley and a 51 for Caleb Fish.
Jennings County is 6-8 in dual meets.
