OSGOOD — Ashley Johannigman hit a 12-footer with 3 seconds left in overtime Monday night to give South Decatur a 55-53 girls basketball win at Jac-Cen-Del.
Johannigman finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and eight steals. Megan Niese led the Cougars with 22 points, while Sam Miller added 15.
South Decatur (4-9) trailed by nine at halftime and by as many as 11 in the third quarter.
The Cougars grabbed 10 offensive rebounds in the second half after having only two in the first half.
“We got out on their shooters,” South Decatur coach Amy Macy said. “All their 3s were in the first half. We kind of mixed up our defenses a little bit, and we started attacking the basket.”
