Columbus East vs. Floyd Central

WHERE: Floyd Central High School

WHEN: 7 tonight

RECORDS: Columbus East 5-0 overall, 3-0 Hoosier Hills Conference after a 31-7 win over New Albany on Friday; Floyd Central 1-4, 0-3 after a 63-15 loss on Friday to Jeffersonville

KEYS TO GAME: For East, it’s just a matter of continuing to pound away. The Highlanders have moved several offensive starters, including quarterback Bryce Smith, to defense to shore up that side of the ball.

Bedford North Lawrence vs. Jennings County

WHERE: Jennings County High School

WHEN: 7 tonight

RECORDS: Jennings County 1-4 overall, 1-2 Hoosier Hills Conference after a 21-20 win over Madison on Friday; Bedford North Lawrence 1-4, 1-2 after a 52-35 victory against Seymour on Friday

KEYS TO GAME: For the Panthers, it’s staying healthy. Tailback Tommy Taylor was injured after carrying 48 times in the win over Madison; and if he is able to return this week, it’s doubtful he will hold up if he has that many carries. Jennings County will have to spread out its offense a little more.

South Decatur vs. Park Tudor

WHERE: Park Tudor High School

WHEN: 7 tonight

RECORDS: South Decatur 2-3 overall after a 30-19 loss to Tecumseh on Saturday; Park Tudor 1-4 after a 50-43 loss to Indianapolis Lutheran on Friday

KEYS TO GAME: The Cougars need another huge game from WR Matthew Gatewood and quarterback Chris Johannigman if they expect to keep up with Park Tudor’s high-powered offense.

Trinity Lutheran vs. Southside Home School

WHERE: Greenwood Middle School

WHEN: 7 tonight

RECORDS: Trinity Lutheran 1-2 after a 56-7 win over Metro East on Saturday; Southside Home School has yet to play a varsity game this season

KEYS TO GAME: The Cougars are coming off a huge victory, so they just need a fast start to keep the momentum rolling. Wide receiver Joseph Vincent scored four touchdowns on Saturday and threw for another, so they just need to get the ball in his hands.

Edinburgh vs.Indianapolis Lutheran

WHERE: Indianapolis Lutheran

WHEN: 7 tonight

RECORDS: Edinburgh 3-2 after a 49-12 victory over Indianapolis-Tindley on Friday; Indianapolis Lutheran 2-3 after a 50-43 victory against Park Tudor on Friday

KEYS TO GAME: The Lancers’ defense had better be up to the challenge as Indianapolis Lutheran has scored 93 points in its past two games, both victories after it started the season with three consecutive losses. The Lancers scored 42 points in the first half on Friday, and they might need to keep that offense rolling in the second half this week.

Seymour vs. Brownstown Central

WHERE: Brownstown Central High School

WHEN: 7 tonight

RECORDS: Seymour 1-4 overall, 1-3 Hoosier Hills after a 52-35 loss to Bedford North Lawrence on Friday; Brownstown Central 4-1 after a 42-6 win against North Harrison on Friday

KEYS TO GAME: Seymour has moved the ball well all season but continues to struggle finishing drives. It won’t have that luxury tonight against a very solid program. The Owls must get a rushing game going to have a shot at the upset.

Pike vs. Columbus North

WHERE: Columbus North High School

WHEN: 7:30 tonight

RECORDS: Pike 3-2 overall, 2-1 Conference Indiana after a 49-7 win against Bloomington North on Friday; Columbus North 1-4, 1-2 after a 42-0 loss to Lawrence Central on Friday

KEYS TO GAME: The Bull Dogs must gang tackle and stop the Red Devils from getting into the open field, where their speed will be a huge factor. That also means that North will have to play aggressively on defense and control the line of scrimmage.

Mitchell vs. Brown County

WHERE: Brown County High School

WHEN: 7:30 tonight

RECORDS: Mitchell 1-4 after a 46-20 win over Crawford County; Brown County 1-4 after a 60-24 loss to Indian Creek

KEYS TO GAME: Brown County should let its offense roll with wide receivers Luke Huls and Julian Ercoli and quarterback Dillon Boknecht. Although Mitchell broke out of its losing ways last Friday, it was bombed the four previous games and has a suspect defense.
