I highly recommend Jay Phelps to be our next Bartholomew County clerk. He is the loving husband of my granddaughter and father to my great-granddaughter. He will bring energy and a helpful and caring approach to managing the office. He has a servant’s heart and works hard. He is honest and leads a life of Christian integrity. He regularly attends First Christian Church and Bible study.

Some of my senior friends from both parties tell me it is great to have a very qualified younger man running for clerk. They say, “Jay is a breath of fresh air,” and “It’s good that young people are willing to take over to freshen up some of these elected offices.”

I agree with both observations.

I am very familiar with clerks’ offices all over the state, including Bartholomew County. I served as deputy attorney general for three years, maintaining a private practice in Bartholomew County for 12 years, full-time trial judge, senior judge and mediator for an additional 26 years.

It is time to put a hard-working, energetic, well-prepared, personable leader in the Bartholomew County clerk’s office. That is Phelps, the needed “breath of fresh air.”

Don't settle for a preview.
