I would like to publicly thank the Columbus Police Department and all the other support services within the city for the amazing 2012 Public Safety Citizens Academy. This two-month-long course was truly an amazing and eye-opening experience.

Not only did I learn an incredible amount about what the Police Department, the Sheriff’s Department, the Emergency Operations Center, and the Fire Department do, but I gained a huge level of respect for all the people that devote their lives to this work.

The level of professionalism and training that all of these individuals showed was truly impressive. Their pride in the quality of the work that they do was highly evident in every interaction that we had with them. I highly encourage others that are interested in learning more about our city to take this course.

Thank you so much, Chief Jason Maddix, for leading this as well as Lt. Matt Myers and all the others that gave their time to support this. It was truly an experience that I will recall throughout my life. Thank you.
