Taking dual-credit classes during high school can be extremely beneficial for any high school student. If you will be a junior or senior in high school this coming school year and are considering attending a college or university after high school, you should give some serious thought to taking dual-credit classes in the fall.
Dual-credit classes can help you get a head start on college. Because of the classes I have taken, I’ll be going into college this fall with almost a full semester’s worth of credit. This will free up my class schedule and allow me to easily take part in extracurricular activities. In addition, I may be able to graduate early or double major. Both Ivy Tech and IUPUC offer on-campus classes, and Ivy Tech also offers dual-credit classes in some local high schools during regular school hours.
One great thing about on-campus, dual-credit classes is that they prepare you for what college classes will be like in the future. If you’re wondering what college classes will be like, taking a dual-credit class now will help you become more comfortable in the college environment.
Taking dual-credit classes is one of few opportunities to prepare for college in a big way. Do a little research on dual-credit classes. The rewards could be greater than you anticipate.
