It was Rock the Park, but it was a very rude experience for anyone who was in a wheelchair, disabled or handicapped in any manner.
The arts council roped off an area specially for the disabled people attending the concert. It appeared as though this was, indeed, going to be a great time at Rock the Park as in past years.
However, as soon as the concert started, some rude and very drunk people gathered in front of the area set aside for the handicapped, leaving us with nothing to view but backs, buttocks and elbows.
A big thank-you to all the security staff for letting this happen to individuals who fight every day just to live life, then pay to be treated like this.

FROM THE EDITOR: This letter to the editor represents one of the comments aired in the days following the Aug. 17 Mill Race Park concert featuring REO Speedwagon. While there were a number of positive comments about the show, several negative assessments were made, including long lines to get into the venue and the absence of any clearly defined aisles.
