Columbus City Council publicly discusses protecting cigarette use as a symbol of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
In reality, cigarettes are a symbol of death, addiction and the pursuit of chronic disease.
This is not a Republican vs. Democrat issue. A Comprehensive Smoke Free Air Ordinance encourages our community to offer better hospitality to tourists, to recruit and retain young professionals, to support healthy families, to nudge smokers to consider limiting their use of cigarettes, and protects workers.
Who in Columbus and Bartholomew County political leadership has the courage to join 14 other Indiana cities and five Indiana counties and vote for an ordinance that will improve the health of our local citizens?
