Letter: Our soldiers should leave Middle East

The Middle East. The very first question that should come to the minds of all Americans is, “What are our children doing there?” They are dying in ever-increasing numbers, just as they did in Korea, Vietnam and now Afghanistan.

This absolutely insane war was started by our politicians several years ago for reasons unbeknownst to most, if not all, of us.

The USSR has already been kicked out of Afghanistan. Why are our boys and girls still dying there?

War is never necessary. It is always a failure of diplomacy and our diplomats. The Middle East is no exception.

The United States of America has absolutely no reason to send our troops there.

In words that should be understood even by our own senators and congressmen and women, “Get our children out of the Middle East now!”
