I am writing again about the current impasse between the mayor, City Council and now the Parks Board. Sunday’s Republic reported that the mayor will ask the City Council to allow her to have the funds needed to hire a parks director. However, the City Council says this is in the hands of the Parks Board.

I went to the city website and discovered that the Parks Board has yet to post an agenda for this week’s meeting, so I have no idea if they are even going to bring it up.

I was also unable to find a way to convey my thoughts to the Parks Board. So, my message to the Parks Board is this, “You have had all of the legal opinions on this matter for some time. Now is the time to decide once and for all how you will handle this. The mayor, City Council and the public are waiting for your decision. Please make it now.”
