I agree with Mr. Flint. There are politics in the Bartholomew County Veterans Service Office, and there should not be.

The only complaints that I have received from American Legion veterans and other veterans in Bartholomew County is the van issue and getting veterans to the VA Hospital in Indianapolis. The van was available, but it was full.

I personally volunteered on three different occasions to drive the van to the VA Hospital, but was never notified that they needed help.

I personally know that Judy went out of her way to help veterans, making numerous phone calls to Pennsylvania and Indianapolis trying to find records and the status of paperwork for veterans who needed help.

Judy is going to be missed. She has been there more than 15 years. She knows every form and how to help people. She also covered veterans from Brown County, Jackson County and many veterans from Decatur County.

All I can say is that there are certain individuals in this county who do not realize the work involved in the Veterans Service Office.
