I’m so happy. Whoever thought to put a historic sign on the Tross building where my brother and I got our first new coats? He was a nice man. It has been a lot of years ago, but I still remember. I was 10 years old and my brother was 12. It’s in my book, “Sylvia’s World.”

Mr. Tross deserves to be remembered. He called us his little boy and girl. Mr. Benny Kroot that owned the old salvage yard on First Street took us in there and told Mr. Tross to fit us with new coats. We were so thankful. Benny knew my brother and I because we used to take junk to the salvage yard when we lived in Death Valley.

I just wanted to write a little something about Aaron Tross and Benny Kroot.
