Letter: Reinforce doors to protect school entries

The news about the Sandy Hook School massacre included one account that sticks in my mind, and I wonder if it could be addressed. The murderer was able to enter the school by shooting out the glass door. Our schools all have glass doors and windows at the entrances. It seems to me that it would be a very good idea to add some sort of wire or metal to the windows to prevent them being entered after being shot. I keep visualizing the chain link such as is used to make portable gates. Could this be considered as a deterrent solution along with the other ideas being considered?
