I love roundabouts. They promote and enable movement of traffic instead of stopping traffic, with simplicity and efficiency and safety. My experience is from driving in the UK and some in Europe during the 1980s and ’90s.
Michael Woodend’s excellent letter in last Friday’s Republic points to typical reduction in accident severity with roundabouts and to their ease of use. I personally enjoy driving and find roundabouts fun and friendly to use. I hope to see them used more.
