Hello, my dear International School of Columbus family, I hope my message reaches you in time.
I heard about the sudden change that has been brought upon you, and I still can’t believe it. It saddens me, and I’m sorry that I can’t be there right now to tell you this in person as we all share these final few days as a family. Nonetheless, I would like to take this moment to share with you my thoughts.
When I graduated in June along with my fellow senior classmates, the first graduating class of International School of Columbus, I knew that I would forever be grateful for everything that I had learned here, from the start to the finish, and beyond.
Now, being a first-year engineering student at Purdue University, some of the most incredible realizations have occurred to me: I would not call myself an ISC alumna nor a Boilermaker if it weren’t for ISC giving me a diploma that got me into college; I would not be ready to face the world if ISC hadn’t given me the wonderful education and experience it has; and I would not have made a second family of some of the most wonderful and inspiring people who have shaped our school for these years.
Thank you to all of the students, teachers, staff, parents and supporters who have made ISC a shining star in Columbus during its too-short but well-lived life. It’s not the time that matters most; it’s the intensity of that brightness that we as a family created for our school.
I will never forget ISC; it will live on forever in my heart. I miss all of you so much, and it hurts to see you go. It was hard enough to say goodbye once, and though this second and last time will be even harder, with it comes a little gift: the education, experience and people ISC has given to each member of its family.
I wish everyone the best in life. It has truly been a pleasure knowing you.
As our little school bids us farewell, just remember that wherever your future takes you, whatever path you take, however you will succeed, ISC will always be a part of you. You are ISC.
