The new mayor of Columbus truly understands how to make our society more humane. Her efforts to stop euthanizing (killing) adoptable puppies and dogs is a huge step forward for Columbus. For, if we were to continue killing our “best friends,” then how can we call ourselves humane? And, if we choose to kill our “best friends,” I would hate to think how we would treat others.

Now how about the Bartholomew County Humane Society? Does it even begin to live up to the higher standards of our new mayor? Or does the Humane Society call itself “humane,” while it “kills” innocent, adoptable puppies and doggies? Is it possible that the Bartholomew County Humane Society is so busy focusing on building a new facility it has lost its focus on becoming a more “humane” facility for puppies and doggies?
