I had the privilege of serving on the election board at Harrison Fire Station on Election Day. I was truly touched by the experience.
My thanks and appreciation goes out to the voters in 4400/4450 that endured but silently accepted the unforeseen hour-and-one-half to two-hour delays that they encountered. The stand in line was accepted graciously, with very few exceptions, even though for some the delays ate into their paychecks.
They came to fulfill their civic responsibilities. Some came with children. Some came in wheelchairs. Some came with walkers. Some came with an oxygen tank, though some of the tanks seemed not to fulfill the immediate needs.
But they came.
And special thanks to my fellow poll workers. You people were great.
