In the face of opposition from many sources, including the media, commissioners, hospital, city council and those who wanted a different mayor, our mayor, Kristen Brown, has been a strong and effective leader of our community.
Does anyone think our city could have achieved the reduction in the cost of ambulance services from more than $700,000 this past year to $300,000 this year and nothing in future years without the persistent and effective leadership of our mayor?
She stood virtually alone in achieving this goal for the people of Columbus. In addition, she has shown outstanding leadership in pursuing a reasonable salary adjustment for city department heads who are working for far less than those who work in similar jobs in cities our size.
I urge you to take the opportunity to let the mayor know you appreciate her strong leadership on behalf of all the people of Columbus.
