What if a large event, drawing thousands of people, were held, but it never got reported? Did it even happen? On Sept. 21, hundreds of classic cars and thousands of people converged on Washington Street. Thousands of dollars were injected into the local economy, and a lot of money was raised for the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
For an event that only lasts a few hours, the size of the crowd almost surely equals or exceeds any event held in Columbus, over the same number of hours. Take the multiday Ethnic Expo for comparison. The Republic will run stories pretty much the entire week preceding the event, during the event and post-event. This year’s Hot Rods and Rock-n-Roll got zero coverage. Like it never even happened.
