There has been a fair share of celebrities that have decided to use their publicity to share their beliefs on the need to put limits on the Second Amendment. I have seen Matt Damon, Jamie Foxx and Jim Carrey speak out for stricter gun control this year, all while starring in movies that glorify what they are advocating against.
Just to be clear, so I am not misunderstood, these men are paid handsomely to pretend to be other people and in a lot of cases are seen in movies with violence, both with and without guns.
They have profited millions off of the exploitation of a violent culture and have security systems and personnel to protect them from the realities that their fictional worlds are based off of. Their fictional characters are allowed to protect themselves with guns, they themselves are protected by people with guns. But those that fill the seats and buy the DVDs (Blu-Ray if you’re fancy) that pay for their delusional worlds aren’t allowed the same right?
I’m sorry you brilliant big screen heroes, but I’m not going to allow someone with a broken moral compass tell me what true north is. How do you like them apples, Mr. Damon?
