Columbus

Where are we going?

It is sad to see the pride that the citizens of Columbus have felt for our community for so long dissolve into a cesspool of personal pettiness that emanates from City Hall.

Anyone associated with the previous operation of The Commons has been vilified by unproven allegations of wrongdoing. A list of the individuals and organizations that have been targeted for attack is staggering. Those included are the fire department, airport authority, Columbus Parks and Recreation, plus a long list of individuals who have felt the vindictiveness of the “my way or the highway” attitude.

There is a feeling in our city that if you keep your head down, it will go away. I long for the return to citizen involvement and “community consensus decision making.”

The issue is how much damage will be done to the spirit and overall health of our community and citizens in the interim. The question is who or what’s next?
