I wanted to write a brief note regarding the upcoming election between Ryan Lauer and Milo Smith for state representative.

A couple of years ago, I emailed three of our area state representatives to relate some concerns and questions that I had over the design of a plan that the Indiana Department of Transportation was planning for a highway improvement project on State Road 7 just north of North Vernon because I work in an office at this location.

I was concerned with the planned widening and speed limit and the safety of ingress and egress for our employees and customers who visit the USDA Service Center at this location.

Only one of these state representatives took the time to contact me to discuss the situation and follow up on my concerns. It was Milo Smith.

While I don’t know Lauer and feel he is also a worthy candidate, I greatly appreciated Smith’s follow-up and assistance on this matter, and I believe he is a man who follows his convictions and demonstrates honesty and integrity in his efforts to improve the local area and the state of Indiana.
