Literacy Blooms at Irwin Gardens tea party event

Follow The Republic:

The annual Literacy Blooms Tea is set for 1 and 2:30 p.m. seating times June 1 at the Historic Irwin Gardens, 608 Fifth St.

The tea, which benefits the Book Buddies program, is a chance to stroll through the gardens, eat lunch, and listen to live music and entertainment for children.

Book Buddies is a volunteer-based tutoring program that aims to help second- and third-graders with reading problems. The program operates in all Bartholomew County public schools.

Literacy Blooms tickets are $15 per person; children ages 2 or under get in free. For tickets or more information, call 812-376-4461or email lindauerd@bcsc.k12.in.us.
